The following extract from a letter of John C. Higdon, Esq., to Mrs. Eddy's associate secretary, is of interest because of the grand Masonic animus of the entire letter and his reference to the fact that our Leader is the widow of a Freemason,—Major George Washington Glover. Major Glover was a member of St. Andrew's Lodge, No. 10, and Union Chapter, No. 3, and that he was highly regarded by his brethren and companions, is shown by his obituary notice in The Freemason's Monthly Magazine published by the late Charles W. Moore, Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts.

Dear Brother: — I was very greatly pleased to receive your letter of the 9th instant, informing me that our beloved Leader had personally written me.
