From the March 1907 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I take much pleasure in relating the healing of my sister through Truth, as revealed in Christian Science. When a young woman she became ill, and through the strain it developed into what was termed insanity. She was placed in an asylum, under the care of the physician in charge there, and month after month she remained, not getting any better. The months finally ran into years, until she had been there eighteen years. Hearing of some of the wonderful healing which was being done in Christian Science, I thought it might be advisable to have treatment for her, but before doing so I visited the asylum where she was confined, and consulted with the doctor in charge, to see whether or not he thought she was improving; but he only gave a disdainful smile at my anticipation of her recovery, and expressed himself in very decided terms, giving me fully to understand that we might never expect her to be better. The following day I called upon a Christian Scientist and engaged treatment for her. The treatment was continued for five weeks, at the expiration of which time we were informed by those in charge at the asylum that we might take her home. That was eleven years ago, and she has never had to return to the asylum, but has been a useful woman in her home, having cared for an aged mother besides attending to household duties.

For all this I am most grateful, and thank God for this wonderful revelation of divine Truth to human consciousness. It is again setting free those that are bound, even as it did in the time of Christ Jesus.
