Before this blessed truth came to me, I was sick both in mind and body; so much so, that it was quite an effort to live from day to day. As I look back, it seems like a dreadful dream; but thanks be to God, I have been awakened to the truth of being by the study of Christian Science. I had been operated on for a malignant disease in one of the hospitals in Boston and was feeble for a long time after. I was also under a great load of belief in physical laws, the burden of which almost drove me distracted. I could not sleep, or talk in a normal way, and was so fearful of a return of the old malady that I lived in misery all the time.
This was the condition in which I was struggling when Christian Science came and set me free from all my fears, and also from the physical ills which were so distressing. I could not bear to go out anywhere without having some one to cling to; but now I can walk five miles at any time without the least fatigue. These blessings did not come to me in one year, nor in two, but a constant desire to understand divine Truth has brought forth much fruit. After I began to demonstrate the healing power of Christian Science, I went to New London to hear a lecture on Christian Science, and gained a great uplift. I had used eye-glasses for over twenty years, but now I can read and write and do any amount of fine sewing without them; indeed, I have never felt the need of them since.
I can never tell how thankful I am to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy. My life will have to tell the wonderful story of the power of redeeming Love revealed through Christian Science.— Stonington, Conn.
