I have experienced so much help and so many blessings through Christian Science that I am desirous of expressing my gratitude. In reading the testimonies of healing, questions which had presented themselves to me have been answered, and I have been greatly helped thereby; and in a similar way, in telling my experiences, I may bring some fellow being a message of hope.
I rejoice and am unspeakably happy about the translation into German of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," through which many a passage has become much clearer to me. How many will be blessed by it! I myself am familiar with the English, and when I began reading the book in the original text, it was impossible for me to stop till I had reached the end, and then I started again at the beginning. During the period of my first reading of the text-book I was attending the meetings and services in London, and while there suddenly realized that I was healed of an eye affection of many years' standing. I have never worn glasses since.
I wish also to speak of the power of divine Love which has been so abundantly made manifest in my life during the course of the year. When my dear mother passed away last spring, it was my privilege to attain to the clear perception that God is Life, and that we need but seek Him and confidently grasp the firm hand which He holds out to us. The grievous sense of separation was relieved and disappeared, and I grasped the truth of the message which came to me from a dear Scientist: "The nearer we are to God here, the closer we are to those who have gone before us."
