I have had many proofs that Christian Science is the truth which Jesus said would make men free. When I took up its study I had then had two severe attacks of what the doctor called appendicitis, and he had advised me to have an operation right away. I then turned to Christian Science, and after taking one week's treatment I was healed, for which I am very thankful. Through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, God's creation, perfect and eternal, has been revealed to me, and by this spiritual understanding many other ills have been overcome. I am indeed thankful for this great truth which has been given to the world through our dear Leader; also for the many blessings which my husband and I have received in class instruction. My desire is that I may give as freely as I have received, and that I may prove my gratitude in deeds. I thank God for all the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science.— Red Wing, Minn.
I wish to verify the above statement of my wife. It is now two years since she was healed, and it was through her healing that I took up Christian Science, for before that time I had been very much opposed to it. I had had an operation for appendicitis myself, but received no benefit, for there was still a severe pain in my side at times; and this was the reason why I consented to my wife's trying Christian Science. One evening, about three weeks after her healing, as I was doing some heavy lifting, I strained my side, and the pain came back worse than ever before. Not being able to call a practitioner by telephone, my wife took Science and Health, and by the word of Truth given us in Christian Science the pain was overcome in a very short time. The next morning I was able to go to work, feeling better than ever, and from that time on I have not had the slightest return of the pain in my side. This proved to me that Christian Science is all it claims to be. I was also healed of severe headaches, which I had had for many years, and the desire for tobacco left me after reading from the Christian Science text-book a few times.
With a heart full of gratitude to God, also to our beloved Leader for Christian Science, my daily prayer is that I may follow in the Master's footsteps and prove a faithful worker in his vineyard.— Red Wing, Minn.
