It would take many pages to record all the blessings which the knowledge of Christian Science has brought into my life. About eight years ago I came to Sydney on a visit to relatives and to hear about this teaching. I was then bound by the doctrine of predestination and fear of death, but the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and other Christian Science literature, has healed me of that fear, and my life has become happier and freer.
Many years ago my husband was engaged in the liquor traffic in Sydney, and on our arrival in Kalgoorlie, the belief in climate and the hardships of a remote mining center made the use of ale, beer, and alcoholic drinks appear to be necessary to health. I am, however, thankful to say that my husband, self, and family have demonstrated that we are better in health and better in business since this habit has been broken. We have also been privileged to help in freeing others from such beliefs.
A few months ago, while attending a neighbor who was suffering from a supposedly malignant disease, I had my finger badly crushed by a gate, and neighbors and friends at once held the fear of disease over me, and a great sense of fear took possession of me. I then wired to Sydney for help in Christian Science, and that night the pain stopped; all the swelling and ugly color disappeared, and the finger was completely healed in a few days, without my even losing the nail. I am very grateful for this proof of the efficacy of absent treatment. I wish to express my thanks to God for this revelation of His power, also my gratitude to our dear Leader for the love which enabled her to endure hardships that this blessed truth might be brought to all mankind.— Kalgoorile, Western Australia
