The greatest blessing that ever came into my life is Christian Science. Words fail to express the deep and sincere gratitude which I feel when I think of the priceless pearl which our revered Leader has given to mankind. I came to Christian Science about five years ago for relief from mental and physical suffering. I was at that time a miserable wreck, having undergone an operation which left me in such a state that I wished to die. At that time my husband rather doubtingly advised that I try Christian Science. I asked him what it was, and when he told me that it was a religion which healed the sick, I was very anxious to try it. He at once telephoned to a practitioner, and within half an hour she came. I shall never forget the sweet and happy expression she had, and how comforting and loving were the words she spoke to my poor storm-tossed sense. I felt better after the first treatment, and continued to improve as I grew in the understanding of what God is and of man's relation to Him.
Christian Science is also teaching me how to put down self, and to do unto others as I would that they should do unto me; to be honest, unselfish, and pure in thought and deed, more loving and considerate toward others; to root out the noxious weeds of mortal mind manifested as selfishness, anger, false pride, self-righteousness, etc., and to replace them with thoughts of love, kindness, gentleness, and humility. I find that in proportion as we do this we are made happier, and "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding," is ours, for we have touched the hem of Christ's garment.
I am truly thankful to God, also grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, through whom the truth has been revealed to this age.— Billings, Mont.
