Testimonies of Healing

I became interested in Christian...

From the March 1918 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I became interested in Christian Science through seeking help for mental unrest and distress, and this wonderful truth has been most beautifully illuminating when the dark clouds of material sense seemed very real. There has been a tendency on my part to listen to mortal mind when wronged or unjustly treated by those who have not understood the truths taught in Christian Science, and in the degree that I have demonstrated love and refused to hold thoughts of resentment it has been proven to me that "Truth and Love come nearer in the hour of woe" (Science and Health, p. 567). A practitioner was always my gentle assistant when clouds seemed darkest. I know that Truth is leading me, and that nothing can compare with "the glory that shall be revealed" to me when I have attained what Mrs. Eddy calls (Science and Health, p. 262) "the bliss of loving unselfishly, working patiently, and conquering all that is unlike God."

I have three boys, and the last two were born after I became a student of Christian Science. When the second son was born, there was only slight pain. With the third boy conditions were still more harmonious, for the birth was painless. A Christian Science practitioner realized the truth for me in both instances. These demonstrations were very wonderful to me, and words cannot express my deep gratitude for them. I know that when I have gained a clearer perception of Spirit and recognize His perfect creation everywhere, all darkness will be made light before me.—
