It is with great joy that I write this message of what Truth has done for me. At the time Christian Science was brought to my attention I was suffering intensely from stomach trouble, which dated back to early childhood, and was also confronted with an operation for inflammation of the gall bladder, the doctors saying it was the only thing that would relieve me. Being completely discouraged with medical treatment, I decided to try Christian Science, so went to see a practitioner and began taking treatment, with the result that I received immediate relief and was completely healed in a short time.
I have been able to prove the nothingness of pain in matter by earnest study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I am very grateful for the better understanding of the Bible, which had been a closed book to me, although I had always attended church and Sunday school and been tenderly taught by my mother in the best way she knew. It is indeed a joy to know God as Love and Truth, the giver of all good, everywhere present at all times, instead of as a personal God sitting on a throne in the skies and to be reached only in the hereafter.
I cannot express in words my thankfulness to Mrs. Eddy, who through her unselfed love gave to the world the Christian Science textbook, whereby we may learn how to apply Jesus' teachings to-day and for every need.— Detroit, Mich.
