I have received many blessings since I have known of Christian Science, and feel deeply grateful to God for having led me to this glorious truth, which makes men free. It has shown me more and more the meaning of the words, "God is love." It is so comforting to know and understand what Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 398, 399): "Evil has no power, no intelligence, for God is good, and therefore good is infinite, is All." I have proved in many ways the truth of these words.
I should like to tell of a healing my little girl received about a year ago. One Sunday morning she seemed very ill. I tried to reverse the error, and to know that God is everywhere and supreme; and as soon as possible we had a quiet talk. I tried to have the child realize that God was present; and in telling her this, I spoke of reflecting God's love. She asked me, "What is reflect?" As simply as possible, I showed her what reflection means. That evening she was slightly better; but when I put her to bed she begged that I would not go to church as usual. I asked her if she would not like me to go and hear more about God and His love. I could see there was a struggle going on; but presently she said: "All right, mother, go. I shall be all right; I am better now." That victory over self gained for her the healing, and she received a double blessing, moral and physical. The next morning she was able to go to school.
This is only one of the many blessings of healing we have received in our family. It is now over five years since I took up the study of Christian Science, and never once have I regretted it. I cannot be sufficiently grateful to all the kind friends in our church who have helped me from time to time; and above all, I am deeply grateful to God, our Father, who always protects His children from fear and harm. — Portslade, Sussex, England
