One evening I slipped on the ice and fell, injuring my left wrist. That night it seemed very painful, and I slept little. The next day I was almost helpless. I declared the truth persistently, however, as did also my sister, who offered to help me, both of us inaudibly and audibly reading from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The second night after the accident I slept well; and when I awoke in the morning I was able to move my hand easily. The stiffness and soreness were almost gone, and by the next day had disappeared entirely. Within the two days my wrist was perfectly normal once more.
I am extremely grateful for this quick healing and for many others I have had since becoming interested in Christian Science. The darkness of fear, doubt, and distrust has disappeared many times before the light of Truth; faith has been strengthened; a clearer understanding has been gained; and more humility and gratitude have remained after each wonderful victory for Truth. Some one has said in speaking of our present understanding of Christian Science: "We are only in the vestibule of Truth; we have not yet even entered into the temple." I realize this more each day, as clearer meanings and new interpretations come to me in studying the Bible and our Leader's writings. There is a long way yet to travel; but if we are grateful for a little, more will be added.
I consider teaching in the Sunday school—a privilege which has been mine for several years—a great source of inspiration; and I wish to express my gratitude for that also. Working with the children, we learn how to become as "a little child;" and the Bible plainly declares that unless we do so, we "shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." — Chicago, Ill.
