In the one hundred and seventh psalm we read, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy." The study and application of the rules set forth in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," written by Mary Baker Eddy, have redeemed me from the hand of the enemy many times.
Fifteen years ago I was healed by Christian Science treatment of hemorrhage and hemorrhoids which had lasted seven months, following the birth of a baby boy. Previous to my taking up the study of Christian Science a physician was called, and told me that I could do one of two things: either have continuous medical treatment or submit to an operation. As I had three small children and a large sense of human motherhood, the fear of an operation was worse than the physical inharmony.
Finally Christian Science was presented to a friend of mine, who borrowed a copy of Science and Health from the public library for two weeks. She read it one week, and I read it one week. When it was time to return the book, I knew that Science and Health was a very necessary and important book to possess. Securing a copy at an early date, I continued to read it, and as a result experienced a great sense of peace and confidence.
