In the autumn of 1918 I was healed of influenza by the right application of Christian Science. I asked alms "at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful," and was instantly healed. I am grateful for having entered at this gate.
In the beginning all was beautiful, and I was sincerely happy. Then came the time to separate the tares from the wheat. Every one who has studied Christian Science knows what this means. I clung to the truth, and three years later had the great privilege of class instruction. This indeed was wonderful. It planted my feet on the rock. I then could see clearly. The class work has been a constant source of joy. Having been reared by devout orthodox parents, I had a fair knowledge of the Bible, and I am grateful for this. During the class work this unfolded with scientific understanding. Church membership was then desired. Realizing it was time to become a member of a branch church and also of The Mother Church, I made application and was admitted to membership.
The periodicals are a daily source of joy in my home. It is a pleasure to give them out, and a greater joy to see how eager each one is to receive them.
