Through reading the metaphysical article on the Home Forum page of The Christian Science Monitor for April 20, 1922, I have come to realize that this testimony must be given, for the reason that it glorifies God and conforms to the request of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
In February, 1908, my sister wrote us that she had been healed, by reading the Christian Science Sentinel, of an abscessed tooth which had caused her a great deal of pain. The help she had obtained did not seem to have so much prominence in my consciousness as the thought that she would even consider taking up with what I thought Christian Science to be. However, about three weeks later she came to visit us and explained to us what Christian Science teaches about God.
Ever since I was seventeen years of age, I had had double curvature of the spine with its attendant aches and pains. As soon as our physician discovered this condition, I was incased in a plaster of Paris jacket, and after that wore a steel brace for over three years. These aids corrected several things, but did not relieve the pain and discomfort. As I also had acute bronchial trouble, we came to California for my health and purchased an alfalfa ranch a short time thereafter; but because of the spinal trouble I was unable to perform hard manual labor.
