Full of gratitude I wish to tell of a healing which was the means of bringing Christian Science into my home. Over four years ago I was taken seriously ill with lung trouble. Sometimes there were signs of improvement, and then my condition would grow worse again. During this time I was in a desperate mood, especially as the physician prepared my family for the worst, since he thought there was no longer hope for me. Two months later some acquaintances called my wife's attention to Christian Science. She was also given several copies of Der Herold der Christian Science; but it was only after a great deal of persuasion that I took up the Herolds and began to study them. As soon as I commenced reading the first Herold I was so convinced of the truth, so sure that I had now found the right thing, that there was only one way for me to take, namely, to seek healing in Christian Science. We then decided to engage the help of a practitioner, which was lovingly given. After the very first treatment my condition had so improved that a few days later I was able to take up my work again. For this quick and wonderful healing I am very, very grateful to Christian Science and to the dear practitioner.
After this healing I took great pleasure in the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; and from it I have learned to recognize again and again that if we are governed by divine Mind alone, "all things work together for good to them that love God." Later on I had the opportunity to prove the truth in several cases of inharmonious conditions.
I am also grateful for being a member of a Christian Science church. It is my earnest endeavor to serve this church in love and loyalty, and to prove my gratitude in deeds. —Berlin, Germany.
