I had suffered many years from a delicate throat, a trouble believed to be hereditary in my father's family. Last year, after a severe attack of influenza, the agony in my throat became unbearable, so I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for help. After the first treatment my throat began to improve, slowly but surely. Not only was I being lifted out of physical suffering, but the spiritual uplift and peace that came through the understanding that man is not material, but the offspring of Spirit, and that his purpose in living is to reflect God, was more gratefully received than the physical healing. I have also been healed of acute appendicitis and of other ailments too numerous to mention. Paul tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. Through studying the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I am becoming a new creature, as old thoughts pass away and "all things are become new."
