I wish to thank God with all my heart for what He has done for me. About five years ago I heard of Christian Science for the first time; and, what is more, I read of it in a newspaper opposed to Christian Science. At that time I was in a desperate condition, and was seeking healing for physical diseases. The physician said I was suffering from dilatation of the stomach, and there was supposed to be a swelling in the epigastric region for which I was to be operated upon. I still felt the symptoms of an abdominal complaint for which I had already been operated upon. Besides this, I was tormented with fear; for my parents and some of my brothers had died of cancer, and I feared the same fate for myself. In short, my condition was such that I wished to die.
A dear Christian Science practitioner, who was untiring in her efforts, showed me the right way. I have experienced so many blessings through Christian Science! My sufferings have disappeared, and a spiritual uplift has come into my life; for I have gained an understanding of Truth. Every one who reads this will understand that I owe to God endless gratitude for His great love, which He bestows upon humanity. My husband, who was in the war four years, and for nine months was daily exposed to great danger, was protected by the thoughts of Truth; and God gave him back to me and to our child. And so I have every reason to give our Father-Mother God the honor, and to be sincerely grateful. — Zittau, Germany.
