In 1907, I turned to Christian Science for the first time, to seek help for our eldest daughter; and after a very few weeks of treatment this little seven-year-old girl was healed of a long-standing stomach trouble which several doctors had tried in vain to cure. The healing, which has been permanent, awakened in me and in the members of my family a great interest in the teaching which gives so much hope of health and harmony to suffering mankind. From that time to this day, the same loving practitioner has been a reliable helper in our family in times of sickness and trouble.
Through the practitioner's faithful work Christian Science has delivered us from many severe forms of sickness; in some cases, according to the doctor's opinions, it has been a question of life and death, and once the necessity for a serious operation was avoided.
Among the more painful and severe sicknesses which have been healed through Christian Science treatment, I should like to mention a case of abscess in the salivary glands, of which one of our daughters was healed. This healing was accomplished in three days' treatment, and an operation avoided. Another time, the same child was healed in a week of lung emphysema in a very serious form. Once our son was instantaneously healed of diarrhea accompanied by hemorrhage, which a doctor considered very critical. Many times I have turned to the loving practitioner for help for myself, and always have received quick and permanent healing. Over four years and a half ago I was healed in two months of severe heart trouble, which after due examination a doctor had pronounced incurable. A year later my heart was examined again and declared to be quite normal.
