Several years ago, with a friend, I attended a Sunday morning service in a Christian Science church, and saw on the wall behind the desk the following statement from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 494): "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." These words impressed me very much; but I did not remember anything of the service.
A few months later, when a loved one was in need of help, I turned with him to the study of Christian Science. By obeying our Leader's words on page 261 of Science and Health, "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true," while studying what was given to this one by a loving practitioner, I was healed of many discordant conditions, among them constipation, a severe burn, colds, also a bad disposition.
Words seem inadequate to express my gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who provided many channels for us to express our gratitude by serving and giving to the Cause. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church, also in a branch church, and for the privilege of having class instruction. Each day I strive to "let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer."— Indianapolis, Indiana.
