I was always considered to have a delicate constitution, subject to many ills. When twelve years of age, I contracted an illness which left me with abscesses of the ear. These were very painful and accompanied by a discharge. In a short time my hearing became so impaired that I could not hear ordinary sounds. There was an aversion to mingling with others on account of the discharge and deafness. This extended over a period of twenty years. The greater part of this time I was under the care of specialists in two cities. All agreed that they could give me only temporary relief from the intense suffering, and could not restore my hearing. Then mastoid trouble set in, and I was confined to my bed for five days.
This condition was relieved to a degree, and I became able to be up and about my household duties; but I was not healed. Having already some knowledge of Christian Science, I sought a practitioner, who lovingly began the application of the truth in my behalf. In a few weeks I was healed of all discharge, and immediately my hearing began to improve. In a short time all trace of deafness vanished, and though this healing was brought about over seventeen years ago, there have been no symptoms of return. This is only one of many healings which Christian Science has brought into my home, and the physical healings have all been accompanied with a desire to know and love God better.
