I first turned to Christian Science that I might learn why so much sorrow should come into our home. Finally, after I had read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for many years, studied as best I could the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and attended services for a few weeks, a discord which had caused me much suffering for years seemed to come to a climax. As I had done many times before, I sought the advice of a physician, who finally said, "You have waited too long, I fear." So, after further advice from a family friend and physician whom I called up and who stated that cancer was the diagnosis, steps were taken that brought me before a clinic of specialists. Again I was told, "Nothing can be done." Then it was that I gave myself wholly to God, and was healed by Christian Science. How grateful I am! And I am striving continually to progress from sense to Soul as our beloved Leader has advised us to do.
We have experienced many healings in our home, both through the tender, compassionate, faithful work of practitioners and through my own understanding of this wonderful truth, as given us in the Bible, Mrs. Eddy's writings, and the Christian Science periodicals.
Perhaps no message ever gave me the light, hope, and strength to hang on and seek and lovingly obey our Leader, the great Master, and the commands of God, as did the passage in Isaiah, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." I am truly grateful for Christian Science, for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for class instruction, and for the knowledge of God's cleansing love. I am working each day to "draw nigh to God," and to be ever a loving, compassionate helper in our home and out of it.— Minneapolis, Minnesota.
