With a heart full of gratitude I wish to relate my healing, through Christian Science, of internal cancer. This took place in April, 1922. Two days before my healing I had been given up by doctors and a specialist, and told that unless I consented to a very serious operation I could not possibly live six months; but I had suffered so much from an operation four months before that my courage failed me, and I did not give my consent. At this time I knew nothing whatever about Christian Science, which had been mentioned to me only casually by a friend; but in that dark hour I heard the "still small voice." My friend arranged for me to see a Christian Science practitioner. Treatment was given; and the practitioner most beautifully and simply told me about God's allness, and the fact that He never made man to suffer and die; and my burden began to lift. I found myself rejoicing in these great truths; and I shall never forget the peace that came to me. Before I left the practitioner's office I was healed, thus proving to me that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." When I saw the specialist a few days later, as arranged, he could not understand what had happened to me. After a thorough examination he pronounced me sound; and to this day I have remained so.
No words of mine can express my gratitude for this wonderful healing. My one desire and prayer to God is that He will give me an understanding, that I too may take part in the great work of love which our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has made possible for us. — Brighton, Sussex, England.
