I feel the time has come for me to add my public testimony to the countless others since first Mrs. Eddy discovered the Science of Christian healing and made it demonstrable.
After more than ten years of suffering under a difficulty called by the medical profession bronchial asthma, I was at last given up as incurable. The only relief that could be given was the administration of a hypodermic when the trouble was too intense. Prayers were made on my behalf by the church with which I was then associated, but to no avail. I was at last counseled to take my illness as sent from God and to submit to His will. This, however, I would not accept, as I felt I could not fairly leave my husband with two little children to care for, especially as he had sacrificed all his earthly substance to pay for my release from pain.
At this point Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," was lent to me. My husband and I both read it, at first with fear and trembling lest it be an invention of the evil one. We both had quick healings, and by the noble work, of the dear practitioners I am to-day "every whit whole." When Christian Science came to us, a little more than three years ago, we were without a home and just depending upon my husband's salary as it came due. A very beautiful demonstration of home has been made, and abundant supply to meet every need. Needless to say, we no longer put our trust in materia medica, but place our confidence in God alone, "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."
