It is nine years since I heard of Christian Science; and it was to please a friend, who had been healed of consumption, that I promised to look into it. I had no faith that Christian Science could heal me, as I was suffering from sugar diabetes in a very bad form and the doctors had given me only three months to live. The textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was lent to me, and I read every minute that I possibly could for a week. Each day I found strength returning, and at the end of the week I discontinued the strict diet I had been following for years, and had everything I wished to eat. The knowledge I had gained that God is my Life, therefore I had nothing to fear, completely healed me.
We have had many healings in our family, of scarlet fever, mumps, blood poisoning, sprained wrist and ankle, convulsions, measles, and chilblains, the last-named having troubled the sufferer for over twenty years. I am also very grateful for the healing of my mother, who had been sent out of a hospital six years before as incurable, with paralysis of the bowels.
