Christian Science was introduced into our home in 1916, when we were given a Christian Science Hymnal. We often played and enjoyed the more familiar hymns. Later, in the office where my husband was then working, there was a young woman who was much in need of encouragement and the healing of a physical difficulty. She visited in the home of a Christian Science practitioner for a few days. On her return to the office she was greatly changed for the better in her attitude toward life, and also benefited physically; and on being questioned she answered that Christian Science had healed her.
In February, 1917, we purchased our first copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The study was taken up to heal a discordant physical condition. My right breast was manifesting symptoms which gave me fear of a growth and operations. I received my healing through the study of our textbook.
In 1925 our second son was born, causing me but little discomfort, and I was able to take up the duties of the household on the morning after his arrival. I wish to express gratitude for the help received from a practitioner at the time.
