"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." With this as a beginning, I should like to relate my wonderful, yet very simple healing through Christian Science. May my joy and gratitude be felt by those who read this, brightening in them the divine spark of love, that it may shine upon all with the power of truth.
For years I was in bondage to gout and rheumatism and went through the stages which follow in the wake of these complaints. Finally I was unable to use my left arm at all, and walked up and down the room because of the pain. Neither powders nor pills, embrocations nor steam baths, brought me healing. As a final remedy, a doctor in Zurich advised a course of treatment in Baden. Then the happy thought came to my husband and me to attend a Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting. Once before I had been interested in Christian Science, but had left it. However, the seed which had been sown at that time was continuing its work quietly and irresistibly, and was now at last to bear fruit.
Suffering great pain, I put on my coat and we set out. We entered the church, sat down, and gave ourselves up to the beneficial stillness. I just let myself be enveloped by divine Love, without thought and without question. When we were on the street again it was as though I had awakened from a dream. The pain, yes, the affliction of years' standing, had disappeared; and it has never returned.
