ITEMS OF INTEREST

[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, August 18, 1934]

From the December 1934 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Literature Distribution Committee of The Mother Church, established to carry on distribution activities in its local district, is glad to cooperate with branch churches outside its immediate field by supplying them with surplus literature when this is possible.

Christian Science churches, particularly those on the continent of Europe, have called upon the Distribution Committee of The Mother Church for literature for use on the occasion of their lectures, and when The Mother Church Committee has a surplus of reasonably current literature it is glad to send it for this purpose.

However, the Field might care to know that at the close of lectures given in The Mother Church current literature is distributed, not used literature. The periodical distributed is usually the Christian Science Sentinel, which is folded and by a rubber band confined in a convenient form for carrying away. Thus the literature offered to the guests leaving lectures in The Mother Church is fresh, clean, and current. If all churches and societies which can afford it will buy current literature for distribution at their lectures, it will be a substantial help to our Publishing Society. If churches do not find themselves in a position to afford this type of distribution, they can, by calling upon their members, accumulate literature that is in good condition for the required distribution, and perhaps order from The Christian Science Publishing Society part of what will meet their needs.
