More than twenty years ago I came into Christian Science, not for a physical healing, though since then I have received many healings, but seeking peace; and Christian Science not only gave me that peace "which passeth all understanding," but it eliminated many errors, such as a temperamental disposition, a belief of possession, and a sense of boredom. It has healed me of worldly ambition, and in its place has given me a great sense of love and humility. It has imbued my consciousness with a profound desire to serve in the vineyard of our Father-Mother God, and taught me to send out only such thoughts as will bless and heal.
When I was young in Science I found myself thrust out in the world with no material means and no training for any kind of business. But I had gained enough of the truth of Christian Science to know that my sufficiency is of God, and that Mind is the source from which to draw whatever is needful. I entered upon a small business enterprise, which grew and prospered until not only all my needs were met, but the needs of others also. I was also healed of an unusual desire to read fiction, when I realized that only the reading of the truth was conducive to my spiritual growth.
While having a car at my disposal for a number of years I was so mesmerized by fear that I was deprived of the privilege of driving, until one day Mrs. Eddy's words on page 13 of the textbook came to me, "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals." All fear immediately left me and I was enabled to drive, and have driven ever since. I have been healed of gastritis in a very alarming form, constipation, tonsillitis, and other ills of the flesh. I am also very grateful for the absolute proof of God's omnipresence and full protection.
