MANY of us are inclined to pride ourselves upon our sanity in all matters pertaining to human experience; and it may be that this state of thought prevents spiritual progress, for one who is in a self-satisfied state is not progressive. He ceases to look beyond himself, and therefore stagnates. It is good for us to examine our thoughts and to see where we stand. Having done this, we can then take whatever mental steps may be necessary to correct any mistaken beliefs we have been entertaining.
The Bible is a wonderful book, for it not only reveals the truth about God, man, and the Christ, about all created things, but also exposes the falsities of material so-called existence. Until an understanding of the ever-present Christ is gained, however, mankind is unable to recognize its delusions, in order to have them forced to the surface, where they may be seen aright and thereby destroyed.
Who of us realized, before we learned it through Christian Science, that God's entire creation, including man, is good, very good—yea, spiritual, perfect, harmonious, and eternal? Who of us realized that the story of creation given in the second chapter of Genesis relates some of the greatest illusions by which mortals have been deceived?
