THE world is at the threshold of a spiritual renaissance. In the midst of unprecedented upheavals, many mortals are turning more wholeheartedly to the Scriptures, and learning to declare with the Psalmist, "I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways."
The moral and spiritual teachings promulgated by Moses and the prophets constitute the foundation of the Christian religion. Upon this foundation Christ Jesus built a living structure of words and works, declaring that his words should never pass away, and that his works should be repeated by his followers. In this structure, Science—pulsating with divine Love—supersedes sense, in the illumination of which the welfare of men and nations is discerned and demonstrated.
When men are confronted with international confusion, perplexity, and distress, their "hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth," they should heed Jesus' counsel to his followers, "Look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." In all ages human problems must be worked out in accord with divine law; and when material sense acknowledges its inability to correct its own mistakes, the Master's instructions glow with renewed hope and promise.
