IT is some years since I first held our wonderful textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, lent me by a dear relative. Within a month I had purchased my own Science and Health and had become an earnest student. My reward quickly followed; I was accepted as a member in the nearest branch church; the following year as a member of The Mother Church, and the third year as a pupil of a teacher of Christian Science. For the divine guidance which caused me to take these three steps I am truly grateful. Especially am I grateful to our beloved Leader for her unselfish, unceasing love for humanity in giving to the world this practical religion.
I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but I did greatly need the mental healing, and I am intensely grateful that I have proved this truth in the overcoming of impaired sight, badly sprained ankles, broken tendon, and other ills, one of which, according to materia medica, had become chronic.
I am grateful for The Mother Church Manual; for our periodicals and for our revised Hymnal; also for our new Publishing House and for the Christian Science movement. I am truly grateful to have learned, in a measure, how to think, how to live and love the commands of Him in whom we have our being. I am most grateful for the revelation and operation of Truth as taught and practiced in Christian Science.— Weston-super-Mare, Somersetshire, England.
