The fact that God's creation is complete is conclusively stated at the beginning of the second chapter of Genesis: "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made." This scientific fact is very generally ignored by a mortal concept which continually claims to be a creator either of good or bad, looks for further material developments, and causes mankind to extend its mortal beliefs.
From this contradictory concept of God's perfect spiritual creation— traced to a mist in which man is supposed to lose his high estate and become a victim of the serpent's lies— we are rescued by the truth in Christian Science. This Science is based upon the teaching of Christ Jesus, who healed sin and frailty and cast out devils through the power of Spirit, and whose admonition was, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, recognizing Christ Jesus as the Way-shower, proved that the mist of ignorance and false belief could be cleared away by expressing the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." On page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" she states: "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual."
