Although I am a young student of Christian Science, this religion of Love has already brought so many blessings to me and to my family that I should like to share them with others.

An instance which proved unmistakably God's protection and the healing efficacy of Christian Science occurred one Easter morning when I awakened early to find the house quite cold. I put on a heavy quilted robe and went to the basement to light the pilots and turn on the gas furnace. As I stooped down and struck the match, there was a terrific explosion which shook the entire house and threw me against the wall. A sheet of flame enveloped me, and my hair and clothing were ignited. While repeating aloud "the scientific statement of being" from page 468 of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was able to extinguish the flames on my hair and clothing and make my way to the upper floor of the house where the children had been sleeping. I asked my daughter to telephone to a practitioner to come at once.
