I am very grateful for the understanding of God and of man made in His image and likeness which I have gained through the study of Christian Science. I have proved this Science to be indeed the law of God, for discord of whatever kind has been healed when it has been applied.
The healing which brought me to the study of this Science was that of my small son, who was instantly healed of what two doctors said was spinal meningitis. Today he is a stalwart young man who has never known any other remedy than Christian Science.
I wish to relate a healing which helped me to learn the importance of doing proper protective work as we are taught to do in Christian Science. My husband was at the hospital for an operation, and in visiting him there, I saw the material evidence of sick, suffering, and dying humanity. I tried to know this was not the truth about God's man; but I must have ignored some phase of this mesmeric sight, for in a short time I was stricken with pneumonia. With the help of a consecrated and alert practitioner, who answered the call for help day and night, I was healed in a short time. Those around me told me later how near I was to passing on. The practitioner, who was also my teacher, had impressed on all of her pupils over and over again that they should not consent to death, and in this moment of trial that thought came to me. My healing was a marvel to all who knew me, and it lifted me into better health than ever before. There was almost no time of convalescence. I cannot find words to express my gratitude.
