My gratitude for Christian Science is exceedingly great. This blessed teaching has changed my whole life, has made me healthy, happy, fearless, and hopeful, and has given me confidence. In proportion as I grasped the truth, the effects of poliomyelitis disappeared, and I have had and seen many other healings.
The births of our four children were harmonious despite the doctor's assertion of impending danger to my life and theirs. When seven months old, one of our twin boys became very ill. Relatives sent for a doctor, who diagnosed the case as double pneumonia and advised removal to a hospital, since the child's condition was grave. The doctor thought the other children had whooping cough. At this point I turned to a Christian Science practitioner, and within a few hours the little boy was well. There was no convalescent period. The other three children also recovered rapidly.
When the little boy was lying there gravely ill, these words came to me (Ps. 138:8), "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me." During the night I was overwhelmed by anxiety. In my need I took up my Bible, and my eyes fell on this very passage. I did not know where it was before. I was comforted and knew that all was well, that the child's life was "hid with Christ in God" (Col. 3:3).
