When I was a boy, Christian Science came to me through my mother, who had been healed of neuralgic headaches from which she had suffered since girlhood. Well do I remember the day when she threw out onto the rubbish pile the homeopathic pills and vials of home remedies which were common in that day. Through her stanch understanding of Christian Science her family, including five children, relied exclusively on its teachings as a remedy for every ill. Many healings took place in this home. It is gratifying to report that all but one of these children have had Christian Science class instruction and all use Science to meet their daily needs.
When young I had a serious catarrhal condition, which failed to respond to the treatment of several doctors. When we turned to Science, the case was quickly healed. At this time I also suffered from stammering. Again the healing was swift and permanent. Both cases were brought to successful conclusion through the consecrated work of my mother. What a joy it was to be free of these troubles.
Some years later, at a time when I had become inactive in church work and was smoking, I had a strong desire to join a branch church and enter into its activities. As a result of my intense desire to join the church I was healed of the smoking habit. That was over fourteen years ago, and no remnants of this habit remain.
