An understanding of the truth of being as taught in Christian Science is the most priceless gift we can have. I have had many experiences which have proved to me beyond any possibility of doubt that Christian Science is the truth and that "man is the expression of God's being" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 470).
A healing which occurred several years ago has stood out to me as a meaningful experience which manifested the healing and protecting power of Truth. One night as I was getting off the train on my way home from work, I missed my footing and fell to the platform, landing rather heavily on one side. Someone immediately helped me to my feet and asked how I was. I was happy to say aloud, "I am all right," and silently to know that this was the divine fact, I picked up my belongings, all of which were intact, and brushed the dirt off my coat. Neighbors and other passengers gathered around to make sure that I was able to walk.
These words by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, came to me (ibid., p. 424): "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection." I was able to walk home and, although feeling a bit shaky, I said nothing to my family. That evening I went to a meeting. While there I began to notice a pain in my side, and f felt as though a rib had been injured by the fall. The next day it seemed necessary to tell my mother and sister of the incident, but I continued to know the truth and was helped by Mrs. Eddy's statement (ibid., p. 258), "Never born and never dying, it were impossible for man, under the government of God in eternal Science, to fall from his high estate."
