Poems

Christian Science Practice

From the August 1954 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It came like touch of angels' wings—
the love expressed to me—
like sun's rays kissing folded bud
to set its petals free.

It lighted shadowed earthly paths
as dawn turns night to day.
It lifted thought to Spirit's height
and pointed heaven's way.

Through pure reflection of God's grace,
fulfilling Love's demand,
it fed my hungry, seeking heart
with truth at God's command.

May the beloved friend of all,
whose friendliness was shared,
record in friendship's book this fact:
one needed care; one cared.
