In Quietness and Confidence

Isaiah 30:15

From the August 1954 issue of The Christian Science Journal

O harried mortal, look to Love and find
The secret place where, earthly clamor stilled,
True peace abides. No arrogance can jar,
Nor sensuous thought disturb, what God has willed.
Taught by the voice of Love, we are assured
And, with serenity, new wisdom gain,
Learning to view life as eternity
Unchecked by death, unmarked by tears or pain.
O tearful one, lean on the arm of Love
And feel the strength of quiet confidence.
Awaken now to what and where you are
And find the comfort of omnipotence.
