My gratitude for Christian Science is unbounded, and it is a great privilege for me to tell of a few of the blessings that have come to me and my family during the thirtyodd year's we have been studying this truth. Christian Science was first presented to our family through the Christian Science Sentinel. which my father brought home with him from one of his frequent business trips. My mother was led into the public practice of Christian Science, and my sister and I have had the privilege of class instruction. It would be impossible at this time to give an account of all the healings and proofs of God's care which have been afforded us through the study of Science.
Members of our family have been healed of infantile paralysis, smallpox, defective vision, sprains, bruises, lacerations, boils, burns, colds, and many other conditions. Lack of supply has been overcome and so has the use of strong drink, tobacco, tea. and coffee. The need for a home has been met on several occasions, and we have experienced protection from accidents. Through his study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which he was permitted to keep, and through the constant prayerful work that was done for him, my brother was sustained during almost four years of imprisonment in Japan during World War II. At the end of the war he was liberated.
While living and working in an eastern city, I was taken to a hospital at the insistence of my employers after I had been unable to report for work for several days. My case was diagnosed as lobar pneumonia, and I appeared to be passing on. I refused medication, and a practitioner in California was asked to take the case. In a few days I was healed and was able to go home. I returned to my work a few days later. In about eight months I was examined for service in the Navy and was pronounced in excellent physical condition.
