Many years ago I began to attend a Christian Science church, not through any desire of my own, but merely to accompany my mother, who had been beautifully healed by spiritual means of an intestinal obstruction for which she had been about to undergo surgery. I myself, in spite of my mother's quick and permanent healing, did not immediately accept Science; in fact, there was, unaccountably, considerable antagonism toward it in my thought.
However, I had been searching for a religion which could give me a logical, understandable concept of God, man, and the universe; so in some degree I must have been receptive, and I finally awoke to the realization that Christian Science is indeed the pearl of great price. I became an earnest student of it, later joined The Mother Church and a branch church, and have for many years had the privilege of serving the latter in various capacities.
For the great blessing of Science in the home and in the rearing of our children, I can never express sufficient gratitude. The children were remarkably free from so-called children's diseases, and those that they had were quickly overcome through Christian Science treatment. Lack has given place to abundance, a right sense of home has been demonstrated, and protection has been experienced on long automobile trips. I myself have had many beautiful healings; but I should like to tell of one in particular for which I am humbly grateful.
