Once there walked among men a marvelous young man whose thinking remained in heaven. Among those who accepted his word, peace broke out: the peace of health replaced the discord of disease, the peace of calm stilled the fury of the storm, the peace of forgiveness regenerated the tormented sinner.
The heavenly peace of Christ Jesus' lifestyle sweeps down centuries to this very moment. He said, "The kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:21 If we will remember to look within, we can find the same peace and heaven today.
Obviously the splendor of heaven is not hidden somewhere in our physical bodies; neither has it ever been found in materialistic thinking. So into what dimension of ourselves must we look to find heaven? Mrs. Eddy, who discovered the Science of Christianity and founded this magazine, gives us the key when she says, "We need much humility, wisdom, and love to perform the functions of foreshadowing and foretasting heaven within us. This glory is molten in the furnace of affliction." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 303 Humility, wisdom, and love, cherished deep in the heart, unlock the doors of spiritual perception, whereby we see through the fiction of material thinking and discern the reality of life in absolute dimensions of Spirit. The physical universe and all its troubles is only a story—untrue. Many students of Christian Science are proving that the reality of themselves and their universe is right now nothing less than the spiritual reflection of God. The fictions of finite thinking cannot survive the focus of spiritual light. The result is healing— moral, intellectual, and physical.
