Recently an article appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel in connection with the Christian Science Church Center building program entitled, "The Reflecting Pool." This brought to thought an experience in our family at the time of the building of the Publishing House, on which I have often reflected.
My husband and I were married during the depression. Shortly after our marriage the branch store for which my husband was manager closed. This meant a great adjustment in our lives, as work seemed quite scarce. However, through our understanding of God as revealed through the study of Christian Science our needs were met.
Early in this experience my husband had a great desire to own a dog, and weekends often found us searching for a particular breed. The prices were beyond our means, but we decided that we would save our small change until we had the desired amount.
