This testimony is given with the prayer that it may help and encourage others who are seeking healing in Christian Science.
I was led into the study of Christian Science fourteen years ago and was healed of a disease of the nervous system when I had been given up by doctors as incurable.
I shall always be grateful to the dear friend, who, when she heard of the medical verdict, lovingly placed the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, in my hands and asked me to read the first chapter on Prayer. I was ready then to accept the truths presented to me, because I realized that since all material help had failed, only an understanding of God could help me in my extremity. With the help of my friend I was enabled to contact a Christian Science practitioner, whose patience, gentleness, and firm, clear declarations and explanations of Truth gradually led me out of the darkness of fear and suffering into the light of health and confidence in God. In just a few months I was healed.
