From the teeming streets of India, to the rice villages of Indonesia, to the modern cities of Japan, DeWitt John, member of The Christian Science Board of Directors, sought firsthand contact with the Christian Science movement in Asia.
"Never have so few done so much, so patiently, with so little," says Mr. John admiringly. He compares the steadfastness of these groups of Christian Scientists with that of the little bands of early Christians in Asia Minor, who also practiced Christianity in non-Christian areas.
Mr. John's itinerary took him to India, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan— covering almost every church and society, as well as two informal groups of Christian Scientists.
