From my early childhood I was sick a lot, and I went to doctors a lot, and I had a lot of childhood diseases. And as I grew older, into my early teens, the condition just seemed to get worse, to the point where I was under almost constant antibiotic treatment for various infectious diseases. The diagnosis was that my body did not have natural resistance to a lot of dangerous bacteria. And in my teen years, the drug treatments were intensified just to keep it so I could go to school and take part in normal activities. It got to the point where my physician was giving me dosages that, he said, normally he would only administer to somebody who was dying of pneumonia.
At age twenty a crisis occurred in the treatment. In a period of a few short weeks I started to become allergic to all these antibiotic drugs that I was depending on for my health. The physician told my parents that he was frustrated, that he didn't have any other medical answers, and they should start preparing for the worst.
At that time, a friend from college mentioned to me he was a Christian Scientist and related to me that he had been healed of an incurable condition of asthma through Christian Science. Thinking that maybe this might work for me, and that anything was worth a try, I got hold of a copy of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, and started reading it and studying it. And it opened up a whole new world for me, showing me what man is, and what God is, and how real God's perfection and healing power are. And just a few days later, after starting the study, I was healed.
