From the September 1993 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If you are reading the Journal for the first time and would like to find out more about the teachings of Christian Science, Christian Scientists in your area warmly invite you to attend church services and use the local Reading Room. Services are held on Sunday and are based on readings from the Bible and from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Wednesday evening meetings include Bible readings, citations from Science and Health, and testimonies by those who have been healed in Christian Science. There is also Sunday School where young people up to the age of twenty learn to put spiritual truths into practice, and many churches have a children's room for those too young for Sunday School.

If you'd like to explore Christian Science more deeply, the Reading Room is a good place to start. Here you can study Bible Lessons, investigate Mrs. Eddy's writings, and read Christian Science literature in an atmosphere conducive to thinking and prayer. If you'd like to study at home, you can purchase Science and Health or borrow a copy from the lending library. The Christian Science Quarterly outlines Bible Lessons for study.

Reading Rooms also have copies of The Christian Science Monitor, an international daily newspaper you might like to read during your lunch hour. There is also literature in languages other than English, such as The Herald of Christian Science and translations of the Bible and Science and Health.
