I became a Christian Scientist in 1980. I was a Presbyterian before that, and I'm grateful for the Christian understanding I gained from that background. Before studying Christian Science and joining the Christian Science church I loved God, but I believed in material drugs for healing and I had no idea that spiritual healings were possible.
In 1991 I was healed of what the doctor said was acute malaria, through the spiritual inspiration I gained from reading the Bible Lessons and also many other Christian Science periodicals. I have also solved many challenges such as limitation, poverty, and fear. And through the understanding of Christian Science, I'm today a happy woman who knows her oneness with God.
In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy said, "In metaphysics, matter disappears from the remedy entirely, and Mind takes its rightful and supreme place" (p. 156). Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). This is the truth that he was demonstrating, which healed all sorts of diseases, limitation, and lack. Through his understanding, the truth took its "rightful and supreme place."
