When I found Christian Science ten years ago, my health was in a precarious state. I suffered from high blood pressure and hemarthrosis of the knee, which prevented me from being able to go to work regularly. The doctor at the industrial establishment where I worked took a great interest in my case, but I didn't seem to get any better.
One night when I was in great pain, my son came home from school with a book, Science and Health, in his hand. I began to read it. On the first page of the Preface I found, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (p. vii). I stayed firmly with this first promise in that book— Science and Health—and I was able to rely on God's help on the path to full health. I completely rid myself of all medicines. I continued reading the book for several months until I finished it. During this time I began to feel my unity with God. I felt His presence. Filled with happiness, I felt that I was completely healed.
I never again was bothered either by the high blood pressure or by the disease of the knee. Being very grateful to God, I began to attend a Christian Science church, where I became a member. In a short time I was accepted as a member of The Mother Church. Now I have taken Christian Science class instruction.
