FIELD REPORTS FROM THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST

Three lives transformed by Science and Health

From the November 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Last month's Journal included reports of how Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy changed the lives of three former members of the medical community In these reports two individuals—one from California and one from India—tell how they were able to reach out, through Christian Science lectures, to present the leaven of Truth to healers in hospitals and a medical school. The remaining individual tells how a renewed commitment to sharing Science and Health brought healing to her life and new vigor to her practice of Christian Science.

I'm a member of the Stanford University Christian Science organization, and it is a great honor and privilege to speak with you about our experience in hosting a lecture on spiritual healing at the Stanford ... School of Medicine this year. Many people were surprised and somewhat skeptical about holding a lecture on spiritual healing in the heart of a community devoted to conventional medical healing. However, this was a period of great joy and spiritual growth for our organization as we actively bore witness to what Mrs. Eddy calls "leavening the whole lump of human thought."The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 114
